Type of Candidature:
Types of Maharashtra State Candidates and Home Universities:
A candidate is considered eligible for admission to the seats of Maharashtra State coming under the purview of competent subject to fulfillment of any one of the eligibility requirements as listed in the following table.

(Maharashtra State Candidate)
Candidate Passing SSC (Std.X) And HSC (Std.XII)  examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State. Candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of passing the H.S.C. examination falls.
2 Type – B

(Domicile status)
Candidate Passing SSC (Std.X) and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from the recognized institution situate outside the State of Maharashtra) And Candidate/Father or Mother or Husband of the candidate is domiciled in the state of Maharashtra. Candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of the authority issuing Domicile Certificates falls in the State of Maharashtra.
3 Type – C (Sons and daughters of central Govt./Govt. of India Undertaking employee) Candidate Passing SSC (Std.X) and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from the recognized institution situate outside the State of Maharashtra. Note: The children of the employees of Government of India and its Undertaking shall be eligible for admission even though they might have passed the S.S.C.(Std.X) and/or H.S.C. (Std.XII) or equivalent examinations from the recognized Institutions situate outside the State of Maharashtra, provided that such an employee of Government of India or its Undertaking must have been transferred/posted at a place of work located in the State of Maharashtra and also must have reported for duty i.e. joined the duty before the last date of submission of option/preference Form. Candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of the father/ mother of the candidate who is a central Govt./ Govt. of India Undertaking employee falls in the State of Maharashtra.
4 Type – C (Sons and daughters of central Govt./Govt. of India Undertaking employee) Candidate Passing SSC (Std.X) and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from the recognized institution situate outside the State of Maharashtra. Note: (1) The children of the employees of Government of Maharashtra who have joined the services since beginning at a place situate outside the State of Maharashtra but who have been transferred to a place situate within the state of Maharashtra shall be eligible for admission even though such children might have passed the S.S.C. (Std.X) and/or H.S.C. (Std.XII) or equivalent examinations from the recognized Institutions situate outside the State of Maharashtra, provided that such an employee of government of Maharashtra or its Undertaking must have been posted/transferred/deputed at a place of work located in the State of Maharashtra and also must have reported-for-duty i.e. joined the duty before the last date of submission of option/preference Forms. OR (2) The children of the employees of Government of Maharashtra or its Undertaking who have been transferred to a place situate outside the state of Maharashtra on deputation shall be returned to the State of Maharashtra after initial transfer/deputation shall be eligible for admission even though such children might have passed the S.S.C. (Std.X) and/or H.S.C. (Std.XII) or equivalent examinations from the recognized Institutions situate outside the State of Maharashtra. (1)   Candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of the father/ mother of the candidate who is a Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. Undertaking employee falls in the State of Maharashtra. (2)   Candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of earlier posting of the father/ mother of the candidate who is a Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. Undertaking employee falls in the State of Maharashtra prior to the transfer to a place situate outside State of Maharashtra.
5 Type – E (Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt./ Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee/ Central Govt. Undertaking employee who is transferred to a place in another University area and the candidate intends to shift to the University area where the Father / Mother is posted). Candidate Passing SSC (Std.X) and/or HSC (Std.XII) examination from the recognized institution in Maharashtra State  AND Father / Mother of the candidate is a State Govt. / State Govt. Undertaking/ Central Govt. / Central Govt. Undertaking employee who is transferred to a place in another University area from the place of passing of qualifying examination of his/her child in Maharashtra and reported for duty before the last date for submission of application form. Candidate is eligible for Home University 70% seats in the University area under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of the parent of the candidate who is a State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. Undertaking / Central Govt. / Central Govt. Undertaking employee falls in the State of Maharashtra. Note: candidate opting as Type E candidate will lose the opportunity as Type A candidate. If any candidate applies for both as Type A and Type E candidate, then his/her claim as Type E candidate will be considered for preparation of Home University Area Merit list.
6 Type – F Maharashtra Karnataka Disputed Border Area Candidates. Refer Rules for eligible criteria Candidates will only be considered for 30% OHU seats of Maharashtra State of CAP. These candidates will also be eligible for the seats remaining vacant in Un-aided Institutes after the CAP round and for additional round of Govt., Govt. Aided, University Departments and University Managed institutes.


Outside Maharashtra State Candidate:

Type of candidature: Outside Maharashtra state candidate (OMS) OMS candidate should be an Indian national candidate who is not satisfying any of the conditions Stated in Sr. No. 1,2,3,4,5,6 (i.e. Type A,B,C,D,E,F) should have passed HSC (Std. XII) examination from an institute situate outside State of Maharashtra within India.

Note:
Claiming facility under Type B, C, D, E & F is optional and it is binding for the candidates to produce the documentary proof along with the application form to claim the facility. Candidate can claim only one type of candidature while submitting the application form. e.g. Candidates who are eligible to apply against the provision of Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates seats as well as against the Maharashtra State seats are only entitled to claim for one of these seats. Refer proforma A for Type -C, proforma B for Type-D/E and proforma H for Type -F candidates. The candidate should submit the certificate in the necessary proforma at the time of filling up of option/preference form. Eligible OMS candidates shall be considered for Admission to institutes level seats as well as against the vacant seats existing after the Centralized Admission Process in Unaided Private Institutes. The details of the admission process for filling up vacant seats and the institute level seats shall be made available at the time of filling up option/preference form in a separate information brochure.
